Here are my photographs from our last day in Hawaii on the island of Kaua’i.

On the 5th day of our trip we docked in the port of Kona. At Kona, a friend of a friend of a friend of my father’s had boat and took us out to find dolphins and go snorkeling.

This species of dolphins are called Spinners because they tend to do lots of acrobatic displays when they jump out of the water. Despite the fact that they did this often, it proved difficult to photograph, as the jump only lasted 1 second, and it was hard to predict where and when they would leap from the water. Here’s my best effort.

Today I upgraded my WordPress (the open source CMS that powers my blog) from version 2.3 to version 2.5. I won’t go into the geeky details about what came with it, but I will say that its new media management works very well and allows me to easily upload pictures without using a plugin to customize things. Thumbnails for my pictures will now be a little bit larger…but that’s not really a big deal.

Overall I am very pleased with the improvements that they made to the admin interface and general architecture of WordPress.

UPDATE: I also was digging through the settings to see if there had been any additions, and I found that I can adjust the default image thumbnail size. So now things are amazing.
